Deck Services

Composite decks that look like wood and last like stone.

Trex, TimberTech, and Fiberon installed by Colorado's longest-running composite specialist.

Composite is the right answer for most Colorado homes — if it's installed correctly. We've installed millions of square feet.

The case for composite in Colorado.
Why composite

The case for composite in Colorado.

UV at altitude, hail, freeze-thaw, and a 60-degree daily temperature swing destroy wood faster here than almost anywhere in the country. A wood deck in Colorado needs stripping and re-staining every 2–3 years to stay looking good.

Modern capped composite gets you a deck that looks like premium hardwood, never needs staining, and carries a 25–50 year warranty.

Trex, TimberTech, Fiberon — we install all three.
Brands

Trex, TimberTech, Fiberon — we install all three.

Trex Transcend and Enhance, TimberTech AZEK and PRO, and Fiberon Concordia are all installed by our crews. Each has strengths — TimberTech AZEK has the best heat resistance, Trex has the deepest grain detail, Fiberon has the best price-per-square-foot in the premium tier.

We're not locked into one brand, so we recommend based on your project, not our margins.

Composite that doesn't look like composite.
Look & feel

Composite that doesn't look like composite.

The capped composite available today is not the muddy-looking decking of 15 years ago. Modern boards have through-color streaking, embossed wood grain, and finish in colors from weathered driftwood to deep walnut.

Most visitors can't tell it's not exotic hardwood until they're three feet from it.

The install is where composite decks succeed or fail.
Installation

The install is where composite decks succeed or fail.

Composite has different expansion, fastening, and joist-spacing rules than wood. Get any of them wrong and you'll see oil-canning, gapping, or fastener pull-through within two seasons.

We use hidden fasteners, joist tape on every framing member, and 12-inch on-center joist spacing for diagonal patterns. Every install is to the manufacturer's spec, which is what keeps the warranty intact.

What goes underneath matters as much as what goes on top.
Substructure

What goes underneath matters as much as what goes on top.

A composite top surface on a wood substructure that fails in five years isn't a 25-year deck. We use joist tape (Trex Protect or Cor-A-Vent) on every joist top, stainless or HDG fasteners, and proper flashing at the ledger.

On rebuilds we'll sometimes recommend steel framing — DuraLife or Trex Elevations — for the longest possible life.

Yes, composite gets hot. Here's what to do about it.
Heat

Yes, composite gets hot. Here's what to do about it.

Dark composite in full Colorado sun gets warm enough to be uncomfortable barefoot. Lighter colors (Trex Toasted Sand, TimberTech Coastline) reduce this dramatically — often by 20°F or more.

We help you pick colors that look great and stay walkable in July.

No screw heads. Anywhere.
Hidden fasteners

No screw heads. Anywhere.

Every composite deck we build uses hidden fastener systems — typically Trex Hideaway or CAMO Edge. The result is a completely clean board face with no visible screws.

It's a small detail that's the difference between a deck that looks custom and one that looks like a kit.

25-50 year manufacturer warranty + 5 year labor.
Warranty

25-50 year manufacturer warranty + 5 year labor.

Trex Transcend carries a 25-year fade and stain warranty plus a 50-year limited residential warranty. TimberTech AZEK is similar.

We back installation labor for 5 years on top of that. Manufacturer warranties are only valid when installed correctly — that's the entire point of using a specialist.

What composite costs installed.
Investment

What composite costs installed.

Mid-tier composite (Trex Enhance, TimberTech PRO) generally runs $35–$50 per square foot for decking material plus installation labor. Premium (Trex Transcend, TimberTech AZEK) runs $50–$75 per square foot.

On a typical 400 sq ft deck the all-in cost for premium composite is usually $28,000–$40,000.

Common questions

Answers before you ask.

Don't see your question? Call us or schedule a free site visit and we'll walk through it on your deck.

Is composite worth the extra cost vs wood?

For most Colorado homes, yes. Stop staining every 3 years, get 25+ years of life, and most of the cost difference disappears.

Which brand do you recommend?

It depends on your project. We walk you through samples and explain real-world tradeoffs — heat, color, warranty, price.

Can I convert my existing wood deck?

Often yes. See our Wood-to-Composite Conversion service.
